Just a point here...clean installs are a maintenance procedure. Apple has
actually done a lot of work to make them unnecessary in normal situations.
Speaking as someone who does a lot of beta-OS work, they've done a good job.
Now if you have a lot of 3rd party extensions, particularly of the
RamDoubler/Kaleidoscope type, then you will tend to have more problems. But
going from 9.0.4 to various versions of 9.1, I had no problems at all with a
normal install.
