Thanks for the head's up on that - while my systems, as well as those of my
clients (I'm a systems consultant in L.A.) all run the minimum needed
extensions (hence, run a clean system), it's just a habit I picked up from
the old days, whereas a clean install always ended up being the safer way of
doing it.

Good to know that upgrades installations now, finally, work reliably and
well enough.

Still don't know why my location manager settings kept reverting, but I'm
glad that issue has finally been tracked down and fixed.
