I am certainly not trying to canonize Dan or anyone else. (No hard feelings
Dan!;-)

Yes, but 1) I mentioned specifically the DB, which is (very) roughly
equivalent to the entire engine of the car and 2) I was not speaking of
costs but rather how complex/easy it is to replace a single part of the
"product." In fact, I specified that the Palm conduits are by their nature
modular and (may be) easier to fix than the DB.

As I frequently point out to others, it is an analogy and all analogies
break down sooner or later. Most sooner! ;-)
