I had a similar problem and ultimately wasn't able to open Entourage at all.
I did a whole lot of reinstalling to no avail. Eventually I discovered it
was a problem with my main identity. Once that got fixed Entourage
opened okay, and my incidence of crashing in Entourage and in general
dropped dramatically.

Question: why are there Identities and Office 2001 Identities? What do
each do?
