Office 2001 Identities (like OE's Identities) includes by default an
identity called "Main Identity". You can change its name to whatever you
want (and must do this, for example, if synching to a Palm handheld). Most
users who have only one Entourage Identity don't bother changing the name,
but you can. Whatever. This is usually the one that has the problem since
it's the one you use the most. If you look inside Office 2001 Identities
folder, you will see a subfolder called "Main Identity", -- or whatever you
may have named it to. (You usually do the renaming when you're in Entourage
and choose File--> Switch Identities..., select the identity to rename in
the window that comes up and rename it. There is another way, but never mind
that now.) Inside this "Main Identity" subfolder are your Message, Database
and Database cache files, as well as Schedules and one or two others. When
you rebuild your database, this is where you go to find the no-longer-needed
"Old Database", "Old Messages". "Old Database Cache" (and sometimes a
"Database Cache (Rebuild)" file) which can then be trashed. If you have any
of these "Old" files from previous rebuilds, you can trash them now.
