I didn't know earthlink supported SMTP AUTH....  anyway. I use SMTP AUTH for
my work server from home with Entourage and 10.2 just fine.  We use an
Earthlink dialup from the road and I know that I cannot use my work SMTP
server, even with SMTP AUTH because Earthlink blocks access to other smtp
servers (at least that was the case as of a month ago).

Something is also a bit confusing:  Are you using Earthlink's smtp server to
send mail from your earthlink account or are using Earthlink's server to
send non-earthlink mail, or vice versa?
