I really don't think it is.

I love that... "welp, it works for me... Isolated error!"

You know, on one of my machines it fairly also- specifically my 667
powerbook. The only differences between that and my other installations are
that almost every single part of it is turned off and it gets mild use I had
to switch to eudora for awhile due to the problems with 10.2 (pre 10.2.1)
and now switch back and forth.

Well, I said I did a clean install multiple times... That would sort of
imply that there are no old preferences wouldn't it? I'm not a luddite- I
beta test for adobe and others, I know the procedures and I've been dealing
with office since word 5.

Actually the biggest helper I have found for entourage having problems
quitting on startup in 10.2.1 is disabling notifications and removing the
deleted mail items schedule and removing the MS daemon from the OSX login
items. I've gone through all the rest over and over.

*smiles and nods* I've done everything, and the problems don't just go away.

> Things are not nearly as bad as you paint the picture.

I'd really say I painted it fairly accurately.

There were serious problems with Office vX when it shipped- there were
serious problems with office up to 10.1.5, and there are serious problems
with it in 10.2.1 and users have no idea when there will be fixes for the
problems, or that MS wants to even acknowledge that there are problems. To
say that the above isn't true leads me either to doubt your sincerity or
your objectivity.

The amount of problems I have been encountering either with powerpoint,
entourage, word or the MS mouse software is starting to get comical to say
the least. No other product that I have to deal with in this price range has
these types of consistent problems that don't get fixed.

The only thing that keeps me smiling is that 9 times out of 10 the MS guys
dont' seem to know what the hell is going on with their applications
either, and outside of the standard support lines (you pretty much named
them) you're pretty much on your own.

I know I'm not the only one that loves some of the MS apps in general but is
appalled at the problems I have to deal with in them on a consistent basis
and the lack of consistent updates to fix them.
