I have also encountered frequent unexpected quits withWord. It happens mostfrequently when I drag a Word file onto the Word icon in the Dock in order to open it. It has become so bad that I have given up the drag-and-drop method of opening files. It also happens when I use the red button to quit  a document. I then get a message that „do you wish to recover the corrupted file?” The recovered file is not much use so I have not taken adventage of it. Interestingly the saved file can be opened with no problems.

I have found entourage to be quite stable.
