The unexpected quits in Word under Jaguar are a known problem, being worked
on; expect a fix as soon as Microsoft finds the problem and can get it
packaged for release.

The quits under Entourage are apparently related to something to do with
files. You say it happens if you replace the database of a working identity
with the suspect database. One possibility is any schedules set to run "on
quit". I suggest you locate any such schedules, note what they are, delete
them, and then recreate them (if necessary).That may cure the problem.
