I bit the bullet and ran the advanced rebuild. Links between emails and
contact entries were lost, but links between emails were preserved. I don't
know if the rebuild would have fixed my corrupted task list, since I decided
to delete and re-enter them before I ran the rebuild.
The DB rebuild did not fix the issues I am seeing with the "Create Contact"
window in Entourage, and the "Add Contact" window in Word. These
screenshots show what I am seeing:

Note that the CreateContact window does not have the toolbar which should be
at the top of the window. And for both windows, the last text field is
incorrectly positioned, and the buttons are almost completely cut off. I
still don't know if anyone else running Office X/SR1 in Jaguar is seeing
this, or whether the issue is peculiar to my setup.
