Hi Nancy,

Before doing the rebuild (or if it didn't work), try deleting those messages this way:

Go to Tools> Accounts> (your account)> Options and check the box to "Allow online access".  That will put a server icon for the account in your folder list.  Click on it and you will see whatever messages are sitting on the server.  If these problem messages are there, select and delete them.  If not, you're back to doing a database rebuild.

I turned off “preview pane,’ and yes, the invisible messages can be pinpointed by a large blank space between messages, but just placing the cursor anywhere near the blank (on both the in box blanks and the delete message blanks) causes a crash!
