I just did that and it had no effect.

I did Command-Option-I and changed *everything* in the folder to Read/Write.
Still nothing! Grrr.

Did that, too. Nope.

What's bothering me is that I completely removed every trace of Office and
Entourage several times, trashed preferences, repaired permissions...all the
usual tricks. And yet a clean reinstall brings me back to not only the same
error, but all of my preferences intact. It's not at all intuitive what's
going on here!

Thank you all for all your help. I welcome any new thoughts...
