Earthlink told me that customers were notified approximately one year ago that there would be a transitional period during which the "old" SMTP server (smtp.earthlink.net) would still work; they also told me that the "new" SMTP server (smtpauth.earthlink.net) is now the _only_ one that will work. Obviously, I can not vouch for the reliability of that information nor the competence of the Earthlink troubleshooting representative...
Maybe I overlooked it, but did you mention if you were getting an error message? If so, what did it say? (The error message I got when I was unable to send e-mail was something like: Relaying <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> prohibited by administrator.) Also, what method did you use to determine that you were unable to _receive_ e-mail? Could something possibly have become corrupted, and would an Entourage database rebuild be in order?
