Earthlink told me that customers were notified approximately one year ago
that there would be a transitional period during which the "old" SMTP server
(smtp.earthlink.net) would still work; they also told me that the "new" SMTP
server (smtpauth.earthlink.net) is now the _only_ one that will work.
Obviously, I can not vouch for the reliability of that information nor the
competence of the Earthlink troubleshooting representative...

Maybe I overlooked it, but did you mention if you were getting an error
message? If so, what did it say? (The error message I got when I was
unable to send e-mail was something like: Relaying
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> prohibited by administrator.)

Also, what method did you use to determine that you were unable to _receive_
e-mail?

Could something possibly have become corrupted, and would an Entourage
database rebuild be in order?
