Beth, I'm not sure why you have those settings. From Earthlink's "E-mail server settings" page at http://support.earthlink.net/support/BROWSEHELP/email/ , I entered your e-mail address, and this was the response: Email Address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Incoming mail server (POP): pop.earthlink.net Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtpauth.earthlink.net
Same server information for Louise's e-mail address: Email Address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Incoming mail server (POP): pop.earthlink.net Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtpauth.earthlink.net For Louise... I also just noticed that according to Earthlink, Entourage's Account _ Advanced Settings_ also need to be configured. Here are the full instructions (don't skip the _Advanced Settings_ , steps 12-19!): 1. Open Microsoft Entourage 2001. 2. Click the Configure account manually button. 3. Click the OK button. 4. In the Account name field, type EarthLink. (Or your username if you have multiple accounts). 5. In the Name field, type your name. 6. In the E-mail address field, type your full EarthLink email address (e.g., [EMAIL PROTECTED]). 7. In the Account ID field, type your full EarthLink email address (e.g., [EMAIL PROTECTED]). 8. In the POP Server field, type your Incoming mail server (POP). 9. Check the box next to Save password. 10. In the Password field, type your email password. Note: The user name and password are case sensitive. Make sure that Caps Lock is OFF! 11. In the SMTP server field, type smtpauth.earthlink.net. 12. Click the Click here for advanced sending options button. 13. Check the box next to SMTP server requires authentication. 14. Select Log on using. 15. In the Account ID field, type your full EarthLink email address (e.g., [EMAIL PROTECTED]). 16. In the Password field, type your password. 17. Check the box next to Save password. 18. Close the Advanced sending options window. 19. Click the OK button. Maybe this will do the trick... Gene On 9/18/05 12:56 PM, "Beth Rosengard" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Interesting.
