Rename your "Microsoft User Data" folder to "Old Microsoft User Data"

No current identity...have never launched Entourage before. No database. No identity files of any kind. Still, I archived the MUD folder and got the same result ... nothing.

A common cause of applications not starting are corrupt fonts. Helvetica Fractions in particular is known to cause problems, as is Times Phonetic. Don't just disable these fonts in Font Book, but physically remove them from
your system and try your applications again.

I don't have those fonts on my machine.

Try deleting this file: ~/Library/Preferences/ com.microsoft.Entourage.plist

No such file: Entourage has never launched.

Check for duplicate daemons in startup items.

Ditto above...

Disable Schedules. Try holding down the shift key during launch to prevent
startup schedules from firing.

Tried this already - no dice.

Doesn't inspire confidence in all those Word and Excel docs I depend on...
