Darian, Overall, I agree with Ed, The movies had captured the grandeur and feel of the books. But I admit, I was a bit disappointed at the omission of the chapters including Tom Bombadil and the Barrow Downs. The movies also omitted a lot of details concerning the huorns and their activities so richly described in the books. Also Sarman's making war on the Shire was also omitted from the films with him being killed by Wormtongue much earlier falling from the tower of Orthanc after being stabbed.
