Ed,

I have been labeled " nerd " in the past too. You are not alone here.
You have good taste in books and movies. Have you read the Hyperion
series by Dan Simmons? I have heard they are really good and intend to
read them in the future. They are talks of a movie too. I enjoyed
reading Arthur C Clarke's Roundezvous with Rama where a cylindrical
shaped starship is found in our solar system. Also there is the two
volume Ringworld series by Larry Niven. They are awesome!

Also mentioning Princess Mononoke and My Neighbor Totoro, has anyone
seen Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind? It has an environmental theme
to it. I saw that one while living with a friend about 5 years ago.
It's good. I also like Galaxy Express 999 and Battle of the Planets
( Gatchaman ).

Merry Christmas: James P.
