Well... I do not know how Canon engineered this critter, but the fact that
it is electronic should rid the camerea of *having* to have a shutter. I am
glad it does, so I can hear that reassuring "thud."
But the shutter can remain up for 3 sec and the sensor data can be read at
1/2000 or 1/4000... etc... unless the CMOS is truly mimicking (sp?) film and
being saturated with an amount of light. I would love to hear from an
engineer at Canon on this!
Does anyone know how to put the 16 bit RAW tiff conversions to good use?
Supposedly (from reading other forums at Dpreview.com
(http://www.dpreview.com/forums/forum.asp?forum=1010) there is a +/- 2EV
lattitude capable... we need better Kodak/Canon type software for it!
