The reason why these lenses are white is not cosmetic. It's to protect
certain elements in the lens that are more sensitive than glass from heat.
Canon's refusal to change the colour is just as valid as their not wanting
to change the colour of the lens coating because it doesn't match the
owner's eyes :o)
