This is my biggest beef with the -3 as well. It will go from showing full
charge to locked up in less than a roll of film, the battery indicator is
worthless. By contrast, the 1v will start showing a reduced charge halfway
through battery life and will return to full display by turning it off and
back on. I can live with the 1v but the 3 is a pain in the butt. Somewhere
in between would be nice Canon.
