I do a lot of low-light stuff and the lack of a true AF assist light
is a serious omission on the Elan 7/EOS 30. I don't always want to
carry around a big external flash unit. Still, I think the EOS 5/A2
situation is actually worse, as it won't illuminate the AF assist
light on an external flash at all, which is pretty stupid.
I don't know if the EOS 5/A2 has a proper battery cover, but the
Elan 7/30 has the stupid flexy hinge on its battery cover, which just
astounds me.
