I find that strange, since I tested mine, both side sensors locked in
both horizontal and vertical lines, and that was in a dim room. Not a dark
room mind you, and it was at F 5.6.
As for no center weighted metering, I'm not sure, I either use the regular
metering, or partial, which is close to a spot metering mode on this camera.
Red eye reduction, who needs that? It's one thing I'm glad it doesn't have.
At the time this camera was brought out, Canon's zooms were 35-105 and
35-135, so built in flash coverage was only for 35mm. That's ok, I've got
the 35-135 :-)
