First know that coatings are hard and don't come off easily. Yes, they
scratch but
they cannot be removed with liquids short of adding a scouring powder to
water.
To clean a oil stain, use alcohol on a Q-Tip. Unless it is pure alcohol,
there will always be residue. I use alcohol and then a microfiber cloth to
finish the job.
The least expensive alcohol is Methanol which is close to pure. A friend of
mine (a lens repairman) uses Everclear Vodka which he swears by. No residue
he claims.
Tokina uses Anhydroxous Ethly Alcohol, which is very diffcult to come by.
You can also use Acetone if your lens or filter is really dirty (nail polish
remover).
It does not harm the coatings.
