Jim,
if you'd ever taken a look from the rear through my EF 35/2 lens when
I took it NEW out of the box, you'd never worry again about looking at your
lens with a 10x loupe. At least 200-500 dust particles on the INSIDE of
the front lens in random distribution. No need for a 10x loupe to see them.
After taking some rolls of film I stopped worrying about it. Nevertheless,
I avoid having too many dust spots on the OUTSIDE of the lens, because
it's easy to do, not because it would really help all that much. Talk
about peace of mind ... :-))
