    I agree for most people the zoom is the cat's meow. That's why I got
it - it's versatile. At 35mm you have a good people lens, at 20mm you got a
nice scenic lens. In between you got the length you need for this shot.

    Forget the filters, you won't need them on this lens. Contrast is so
good, I haven't felt the need for any filters on it yet. A polarizer maybe,
and it is a little more expensive than smaller filters, but if you need one,
just buy one later. Give the lens a try first without, and I think you'll be
happy.
