Sounds like a nice setup, with one exception: for me at least, the 3001 legs
are too short. Using the center column costs a lot of stability, so try to
get a set of legs that are high enough for you with the column down. I'd go
with the 3021 or the 3041 (or whatever the number equivalents are now; the
3041 is the same as the 3021 but with the ability to mount the column
horizontally).

The 3021 is about 10 inches taller than the 3001, and for me that makes all
the difference.
