Hi Bob,

Except when the lighting is changing quickly, in which
P mode could have something to offer. Or maybe even one
of the Programmed modes (like Portrait or Macro).

I also seem to remember that the metering pattern might
change, depending on M mode and the use of flash. E.g.
I thought that some EOS models (?which ones) change to
a peripheral metering pattern as soon as flash is used.
And on other models (e.g. Rebels), only Centre-weighted
metering is available in M mode.
