Peter, I've never used the ECF on my 3 and prefer the 100% finder on my 1v -
wish the 3 had the same. But this is a couple of soft, subjective elements
of two great cameras and should not lead to the conclusion you seem to have
reached. For professional sports works the 1v has several important
advantages over the 3, however, for amateur sports and other applications I
would agree with those who have advised Pattie to look at the 3 and some
good glass. Personally, my next body will be another 1v rather than 3 as I
think it is worth the extra money.

Yes Tim, two great cameras and to each his own. I find no advantage in a
100% viewfinder. Most magazines crop anyway and if I am out to the edges I
lose the image. With less than 100% viewfinders I have lkess chance of this
happening. I have shot MLB games with my EOS3 and no problem with AF speed.
The 1v is faster but I prefer to select my shots, just my preference. I also
like using ECF for sports.

OIne interesting point on digital for newspapers and others. At MLB games
these days I see more and more Nikon users, especially digital D1s, etc. I
think Canon is losing the digital market to the more savvy Nikon who has
agreements with Fuji building their S1 which I just finished evaluating (6
megapixel camera, 2x the res of the D30). Also the new Kodak Digital SLR is
a Nikon nount. Canon may have IS but I think Nikon will own the digital
market.
