If he insists on buying a 1v, go for it... But a more economical (and allmost as good) 
choice is the 3 w/ PB-E2... For the price of a 1v, you can get a new EOS 3, a new 
PB-E2 and a very good second-hand 200/2.8L (1. gen.), and that's a very good start... 
Couple this with a 1.4x (for a 280/4) or 2x (for a 400/5.6) teleconverter and you've 
got a killer outfit...

I'm going to cover the womens pre world-cup soccer game between Norway and Canada 
today with an EOS 3 (w/o PB-E2), 300/4L, 200/2.8 and 20-35/2.8L...
