Some of you might remember that I had asked a question regarding
underexposure with flash. Well, I still have questions.
We had a big dance night at Crystal ballroom here in POrtland, and I shot
about 6 rolls. I got a little inconsistent behaviour.
At link http://www.pdxswing.com/FLD2001/ ,
Erik Gonzales Cha Cha section : picture 0038 to me is the effect I want. The
background and the foreground are properly exposed (imho). The other
pictures however required brightening up 1-2 stops using photoshop
(estimate). Any ideas? My 550Ex indicated a green light everytime after the
picture was taken. Also if you look at Erik Gonzales Misc2, the floor is so
bright, i htink it is throwing off the ETTL. I was not pointing the flash
down or anything it was straight down, and I thought the flash would only
look at the active focus selector (in auto focus mode). The flash was
mounted on the camera without a bracket. What can i do to avoid this
situation? Even a direct flash shot (around 6pm)

seems underexposed to me. I was mostly using f5.6 with 1/8 with ETTL on my
ELan IIe and 550EX to get background foreground balance.
