Hi Jack,

Canon suggests exactly that combination, see:

But they forget to mention that the EOS 3 autofocus is "half-strength" when
using an f/5.6 lens like the 28-135 IS USM. "Full-strength" AF only applies
when using lenses f/4 or faster. See:
