IIRC,  The microdrive is not compatible with e.g. the
Olympus E-10 due to the heat generated.  I figure heat
can be an issue for CCDs and digital cameras.

I previously used the microdrive/D30 combo in 90 degree weather
with the black camera body exposed to the sun's radiation
without troubles.

Two 1500 mAh batteries hold enough power for photographing
>1 gb microdrives worth of data (>330 RAW images).  Last
Wednesday I must have done approx. 400 frames on the set of
two batteries,  then I had to switch to my spare battery,
which lasted until the end of the session.  I keep the review 
deactivated,  and only review if neccessary.  The LCD eats
battery.
