Although the Canon doesn't have as much zoom, the focusing speed is much
quicker and also allows for Full-Time manual focusing.  Since it uses the
77mm filters, the same filters can be used if one owns a 70-200 2.8L or a
17-35 2.8L.  Oh yeah, Canon's prettier and has a better build. :)

I've got to mention as well, the 28-70 focal length is the least used (for
me anyways).  I always get ultra close or kinda far away.  I do use it for
landscapes because it's the sharpest of those three lenses.
