Peter, which Tamron 28-105 f/2.8 are you talking about? Is it the 
Tamron AF 28-105 f/2.8 LD Aspherical IF lens? If so, a first glance 
at Photodos test results would tell another story. Now, I'm not a 
big fan of Photodo ratings, but those MTF values are too low for a 
good lens, IMHO. The Canon seems light years ahead.
