Bearing in mind that any flavor of TTL only makes sense with rather flat, low contrast frontal light, I don't use TTL too much. However, with external flash originally meant to be hot-shoe mounted, I use Manfrotto or California Sunbounce brand reflectors on professional grade lamp stands with respective arms. In order to really obtain soft light, all those esoteric Lumiquest and company toys make little sense with more than one meter distance. > I am now playing with studio flash photography with wireless > 550EX, doing mainly people photography. "Studio" and "wireless 550 EX" don't go together. No proper pilot light, not enough power, no repeated fire power. Firing shoe mount flashes in fast sequence at full power (or near that, you want to use diffused lights) will certainly result in early thermal overload or even destruction. > Has anyone found a way to put a really big softbox onto > 550EX speedlights? To what avail? They are not powerful enough for that. > What is the best way of supporting big softboxes? Manfrotto/Bogen lamp stands, Avenger grip equipment, California Sunbounce grip equipment. -- Michael Quack <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
