Thanks.  Yes, it was purchased used - "mint" - and it does indeed look
new.    The contacts certainly all look shiny and clean.  Maybe I'll
try cleaning those off - with what?  A Q-tip and some alcohol?

I now see that the chart was published in 1990, which explains the
absence of two of my lenses, but reaffirms that it *should* work with
the early 50/1.8.
