You can't imagine my surprise when it arrived together with a bill from customs, charging me 21% BTW (tax) and 11% import taxes. I end up paying more than 30% of the *list* (not street!) price of the lens regardless that it was indicated in the export paper that it was a gift. I'll think about it 10 times and then again before buying outside the European Union and only do it if it's really the only option available (like some items that are only available in the US). You won't make any savings at all.
