My dilemma is that I need a lens to fit the gap between my 17-35 &
70-200 L lenses until I can get my hands on the new baby. For obvious
reasons I don't want to spend too much, as it's only a stop gap. .........
I got caught in exactly this situation years ago James while waiting for a
28-70 to arrive via air freight. I had a job on so went and bought a new
28-135 IS as a temporary solution but was so pleased with the lens that I
still have it. The optical quality is fine and I have had images used for
double page spreads in full colour magazines without a problem. I use the
28-70 a lot so a backup in this range isn't a bad thing anyway. It's also my
"throw on the shoulder go anywhere" lens on a backup body.
