Julian, I only have a D30 unfortunately but I believe the D60 is the same. The D30 and I believe the D60 both have a dazzling "maglite" white focus assist rather than the red focus assist built into the flash guns and the ST02 unit. The White light I find very distracting for my subjects, and onlookers, the red is much better. I also believe the rnage of the focus assist in the flashes/ST units is much greater.
