Robert, I have not done any such tests myself. Not having a medium format camera or a D60, all I could do is film, 1D, and 1Ds anyway. The fact that some are comparing the 1D(s)'s to film, even if the reviews are mixed, is significant enough for me. For all readers' benefit, I spent years scanning film and retouching the dust spots (more time than I did shooting). That is an activity I rarely do anymore. I viewed some 30"x40" poster prints at a free photography show in Tampa recently and was surprised to see that both the 1D and 1Ds images looked better than the medium format images (same picture, modeling situations). I'm sure the resolution detail would not be there if one blew up a 1D image with the brick wall. That camera was never intended to show that kind of detail. It was sold as a PJ tool for sports and the like from the day it was introduced. Try shooting Astia in a night football game, even with the lighting in pro stadiums. Hence, the comparison should be between 800 speed film and the 1D. I know digital would win there. I know the sticker shock of digital cameras is tough ;(. Subtract a couple year's worth of film and processing and it seems much less expensive, though. Especially with the 10D coming out at only $1500, throw the film away. The images in the above link do show some really bad jpeg and sharpening artifacts, even the 1Ds image has a halo around the stop sign.
