I forgot to mention that even the cheapest Finnish mail-order shops
are consistently much more expensive German ones, and local stores
even more so: such items may well cost more than double what mail
order from US would (after all customs and taxes).

Price differences do vary quite a lot depending on the specific item,
however. Often mail order from Germany ends up pretty evenly matched
with US (which would mean they're only 5% more expensive before taxes),
occasionally even cheaper. Either is almost always much cheaper than
any local shop, though.
