Thanks Chip, I'm on ADSL but certainly my computer is not on all the
time, nor is my email client always open, nor is it always retreiving.
I do other stuff on my computer and my philosophy is always put
complete computer resources into things like Photoshop or an online
game. Wouldn't wanna get bumped off a server whilst in the middle of
the ultimate frag fest, or in the lead last lap at Monza.

I'm not about to open an account at a US ISP just to use email, but
nice idea. Hotmail, well it likely carries as much spam and problems
as I'm trying to avoid, built right in, plus the ads, etc.

I have the latest version of Norton and I admit I tried it out and
it's a nice program, but it's still a resource hog and of course much
scanning takes away from my speed of executing, loading, and using.
The main thing is though I don't need it. My email client is text
only, the only attachment that will execute is a JPG.

My IE explorer 6 is current, with high security. I don't even view
Java crap. So I think I'm pretty safe. Let's put it this way, I get NO
viruses, NONE.

I'm getting a new email account next week, hopefully by the time the
viruses and spam catch up with it, someting will be done about this
current mess.
