Hi Bob,

I'm using a 40GB FlahTrax, Santa gave it to me for Christmas. Don't worry
Santa got something pretty good too, hopefully she'll remember it next year!
The FlashTrax is the bomb! It's reasonably fast at downloading a full CF
card and when plugged into a computer appears as another disc drive on the
system although is's a bit slower than my 10K and 15K RPM SCSI drives it's
about the same performance as a typical 10K RPM ATA hard discs in better
desktop PC's.

The FlashTrax storage systems can read and display Canon RAW files and
several other RAW formats, check the FlashTrax website. The color display
is large and is very useful if not great to view images on. At least it has
a zoom feature and is good enough to tell if a shot is sharp enough to use
or not. With TV output and the ability to do a slide shows it's fun to use
while on the road with the family, they like to see what I caught them
doing. It's also a good MP3 player if bulkier than my 40GB Nomad Jukebox.

I also have a laptop but don't carry it anymore. But I usually carry a
micro-sized USB 2.0 CF card reader and the software to make it work on a
WinDoze machine If I get in trouble. I highly recommend the FlashTrax media
storage device, it works as advertised and so far has not let me down.

HTH
