That isn't saying much - the kit lens is a $50 lens.

I have a 15-30, and I'd put it somewhere between the 28-135 IS and 24-70L in subjective image quality. Better then the IS, not as good as the L. It produces sharp, contrasty images for me, but I usually shoot around f8 with it.
