My .02: The dress. Are you sure the dress is white-white? Usually, you'll find it is slightly off-white. You might want to get a peak at the colour in order to get it right. Maybe calibrating with a graycard (or even white ;-) could help?
Smiling. To get the couple to smile when you want them to, it can be useful to ask the mother of the bride what she used to do to make the bride smile when she was a little girl. You may not understand the humour of it yourself, but it will work for the bride ;-). And if the bride is grinning, the groom will follow (if he isn't half-dead). Inside the church. The best shots in a church (IMHO), are those without flash - but WITH artificial light. A slight yellow cast is perfectly acceptable as it gives the impression that the church is lit by candles - can look very romantic. Just don't overdo it. The rehearsel is the perfect time to try this... Good luck!
