I know that is a work of responsibility, I told the bride and the groom, they are my best friends (both two..), I told them if they don't think is better to hire a pro, but they told me they'd like me to take the shots, that's not a problem, so I answered I will do my best at all..
Even all of this I'm stills scared, because this is a "one in a lifetime" moment, and I cannot miss the right shot... I should be relatively free in moving, and yes I can use the Flash, the reverend only doesn't want too much intrusions... Things I started time ago was: - How will all the day go on... Where I should be, which steps will the ceremony have, before the ceremony, after the ceremony, the dinner, the friends, the relatives (I know personally most of the people that is invited)... P.S. The wedding is late afternoon (3.30PM), so I think Flashes should be more than necessary. - Spoken with the bride of all the "canonical" shots they wanted and taken a note, they are fortunately few, I personally don't like stereotyped shots, hope my creativity helps! :) - I'm going in a week or to the church to take some shots, and a week before the weeding I can do it again because there is the chorus that takes a test, so I can do also some shots with a lot of people - Still don't know if I will bounce o flash directly, it depends if the church is naturally lightened or if the weather is bad if there will be artificial lighting. To everyone that told me the L lenses are better, I certainly do know this, but they are also so expensive... I know that f/5.6 it's not a real fast lens (slow... I know...), but I don't have any other budget to spend... So, just speaking as thinks flows from my mind, sorry :) * I will setup my 350D to ISO 400 or 800 (depending on the tests) ISO 800 is not so bad in quality... ISO 1600 is too "grainy" * I will use EFS 17-85 IS USM as main lens, on the 350D, I'm thinking if I have the time to switch only once between it and the EF 75-300 IS USM to take some shot at the crowd during the ceremony, during the sermon (don't kwon if this is the right word...) and switch back to the EFS 17-85. * I will use Speedlite 580EX on the 350D bouncing up an using the white flag to get catch lights and to reduce that "stoning" effect I'm having with 420EX in a direct shot. * I will be shooting in P mode or Manual mode (still thinking if I'm quick enough to set the right exposition manually, and not only modify it) * For WB I'm still a little ignorant to make a "conscious" decision, some hints? I'm using Flash and obviously the bride will be in white :D * Set AF to a single spot (centre)? Or use all the 7 AF points? * I will setup my 650 with a film ISO 400 (or higher if I can find a good one, some brand you use?) * I will use the EF 50 1.8 with this body, I like very much this lens, this is my first lens and the AF sounds like a drill, but quality is very good!! * Here I will use the 420EX, and I was thinking of putting a white piece of paper to use as the white flag of the 580EX, and bounce this also I have a 2BG Flash card, thinking about taking my laptop to backup shots as soon as possible and in case get a free of space card...
