Hi... the Leica (not that I am pushing, or anything) is 28-102mm at 2816x2112. Pretty good size image for a point and shoot. The lcd screen is spectacular. It's got a metal body, so if you drop it (some of us do things like that...), the chances are better that it will survive the fall. It's also got a different aspect ratio setting if you're shooting for display on a flat screen TV, which is a cool feature, but something I rarely use. On a 1-gig card, 320 images (more or less). And, on a 1 gig card you can also capture about 10 minutes of video. I really, really like the image stabilizer, though. For some reason, I seem to be ok hand-holding the 1Ds, but have never gotten the hang of using a point and shoot with good result (until now).
3 frames per second, and it of course does macro. ISO settings are 80/100/200/400. the only drawback I see is the battery pack issue.
