The XTi also lacks the Quick Control Dial on the back that the more "professional" cameras have. This is a great feature for biasing your automatic exposures AND even more useful if you use manual exposure because your aperture control is on this dial (with the shutter speeds on the Main Dial).
If you're not in a rush, you can bet money that a 40D will be coming soon with the XTi features in a more professional body.
