Subject: EOS 20D calibration
Hi,
I'm in the UK with a 1V-HS and 20D, but have recently been having
consistent focus issues on my 20D with various lenses - two 50mm 1.8,
17-40L, 100mm macro, and a Sigma 70-200 f2.8.
Is there a way to get the AF of my gear calibrated? Can I send it to canon
somehow, and if so, should I expect to sell a kidney to pay for it ?
Many thanks
James
Hi James,
I had my 10D AF calibrated by Lehmanns of Stoke on Trent. I dropped it in
before lunch, and collected it about 3 hours later. I was just inside the
12 month warranty so there was no cost to me, and they upgraded the firmware
to latest at the same time. At Lehmanns I spoke to the owner who actually
understood what I was talking about, and it was a very positive experience.
I've also had good work done for me at the Canon UK base at Elstree, but
they employ receptionists, and there I've never yet got to speak to a
technical person about a technical query. (I'm not a member of CPS which I'm
told I could easily join in view of my ownership of several L lenses etc.
This is said to make a difference.)
(Other, repair, work at Lehmanns has taken its turn in the queue.)
