I bought the A2E (with ECF) thinking I would love to use this, turned out
that I hardly ever use it since it gave me a headache having to glance at
the point I wan to focus while keeping the composition framed, I find it
faster to just use the center AF point to focus, lock it, and recompose.

I then bought the EOS-3 for it's overall capability but not the "improved"
45 point ECF, tried ECF a couple of times and still hated it..........., so
again I don't use it, in fact I lost a few shots over the years because the
ECF switch accidentally got bumped to ON position, and me and the camera
unknowingly were fighting each other for focus control!

Happily this "feature" is not on the 1D Mk2 I use now, if it were there, I
would have taped it or glued it permanently to the off position.
